Whose responsibility is Cybersecurity First?

The leading principle is to remember that “Cybersecurity First,” is a Team Effort. Despite their effort and authority, no single person can measurably improve the cybersecurity of a Credit Union. It takes all Credit Union associates and our members on the same page to successfully combat cyber threats.

What does Cybersecurity First mean?

Putting cybersecurity first means that cybersecurity should never be an afterthought.  Whatever action you take, from talking to a member to entering information into a computer system, think Cybersecurity First. Once you integrate cybersecurity thinking and awareness into your daily duties, it becomes easy.  Use the resources that are available to you, including optional training of cybersecurity skills and awareness.

How does technology leadership become a Cybersecurity First team?

Strive to be a security thought leader in your area. Seek out experts at your Credit Union. It takes a whole Credit Union Family to strengthen the cybersecurity efforts of your organization.

Cybersecurity First is more than a buzzword- it is a key piece to staying proactive and keeping the people and information within your credit union safe.
